What happened

Anthropic announced a $100 million commitment on 2 October. It says initial cohorts are running in San Francisco, New York and London, with participants including Accenture, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Novo Nordisk.

Organizations nominate engineers for in-person instruction and a practical assessment. Successful candidates then undertake a 12-week project at their own organization, supported by Anthropic engineers, before a second assessment. The first final credentials are expected in early 2027.

Why it matters

The commercial issue is implementation capacity: security reviews, integration and responsibility for operating a system can constrain adoption even when a model performs well. Training could expand that capacity while deepening customers’ reliance on Claude. The funding commitment and enrollment target are plans, not evidence of completed deployments or independently measured productivity gains.

What to watch

Watch for completed projects, independently documented reliability and costs, and wider access beyond the initial cohorts. Australia is represented through a participating bank; an Australian training location was not announced.
