What happened
AWS chief Matt Garman says Amazon no longer uses nondisclosure agreements with government agencies on its projects. Amazon also announced more than $1 billion of additional community investment over five years.
Why it matters
These are company commitments, not independently established outcomes. For communities and infrastructure buyers, the useful test is whether agreements, disbursements and local impacts can be examined project by project. Aggregate investment promises do not answer who bears a particular grid upgrade or whether a promised local programme actually starts.
What to watch
Watch for published project agreements, spending reports and measurable local energy and water outcomes.
