What happened
Chord is Decagon Labs’ first voice model. Voice 3 combines it with a duplex architecture that can listen, speak and work concurrently. Decagon reports support for more than 70 languages and says Chord uses licensed training data and consented voices. Access is presented through its commercial product and demo; no downloadable weights or open license are announced.
Why it matters
Simultaneous conversation and tool work could reduce awkward silences in service calls. Deployment still needs testing of interruptions, confirmations and escalation to people; a natural voice does not prove correct actions.
What to watch
Watch for independently measured resolution quality and published commercial access terms.
